Update to Operation Wood Hollow

It's official, Operation Wood Hollow is now Phoenix Quilts.  Hopefully receiving a handmade quilt will help each family "rise from the ashes" as they start over.  Julie has received many quilts so far, but more are needed.  Please check out her new website, http://phoenixquilts.blogspot.com for more information.

I've been emailing Julie about how to finish the 20+ tops that have been donated.  I'm really excited that I've been able to get batting donated from Winline Batting!  They are an awesome company, and they happen to be just a few minutes from my home.  We're also going to be enlisting help of the Salt Lake/Ogden Longarm Guild to hopefully get the tops quilted.  Julie and I will both be going to the meeting a week from Saturday.  I'm excited to meet her, and I REALLY hope that the guild comes through to help finish a bunch of these.  I'm planning to join, but haven't been to any meetings before, so I don't really know what to expect!  I'll  be really disappointed if she brings all of them with her and only a few get taken.  Here's hoping...

I'm also working on finding donations for backs for the unfinished tops.  I've contacted a company about that as well, and hopefully I'll have good news to update you with.

In the mean time, I'm all done quilting the Superhero Quilt, but need to bind it.  I've got all the blocks sewn into rows for a quilt for my new niece who will be arriving soon, I made 5 strings blocks today for a SLMQG charity quilt, and I'm thinking about cutting out a new dress for my daughter.  Photos coming soon of all of these!  I've got to get a lot done before the longarm guild meeting when I'll be getting some tops to quilt for Phoenix Quilts!
